The Wong Foundation Funding Initiatives

 

As a prospective partner, we invite you to invest in the educational community in your area by sponsoring STEM educational programs and the funding of STEM competitions to help children and teens apply real world application of STEM concepts. These STEM programs and competitions provide a wonderful community outreach opportunity for your business. In addition, these STEM programs and competitions offer great media exposure, photo opportunities as well as an opportunity for volunteer participation from your employees. Best of all, with your support, we can offer exciting hands on STEM programs and competitions which spark interest in science for our children and teens, inspiring them to pursue careers in STEM fields of interest in the future. The Wong Foundation STEM Educational Programs

 

After-School STEM Educational Programs

 

The Wong Foundation works to fund after-school STEM educational programs in the communities where there is the greatest need. These communities may be where your business is located.  There is a variety of topics of after-school STEM programs from which children and teens can choose.

• Provides sustained learning of multiple STEM concepts

• Demonstrates that education is not limited to school

• Encourages children to consider future career possibilities in the area of STEM interest

 

Summer STEM Programs Camps

 

The Wong Foundation provides camp scholarships to deserving students who express an interest in attending Chasewood Learning Summer STEM camps. Students can currently select from camps at over 20 locations in the Chicagoland area. This year, there were approximately 40 weeks of STEM camps to select from in the Chicagoland area.

• Encourages knowledge acquisition during the long summer months

• Demonstrates learning outside the school environment

STEM Competitions

 

The Wong Foundation works to fund STEM competitions in the communities where there is the greatest need. These communities may be where your business is located.  There is a variety of STEM competitions from which children and teens can choosefrom year around.

• Encourages team building and continues learning of advanced STEM concepts 

• Demonstrates team work and mastery of advanced STEM concepts and skills

• Reveals that STEM concepts can be applied to real world problems in a fun way!

 

 

Classroom Visitations

 

Through partnerships with businesses and community organizations we offer a classroom model where we provide hands STEM educational lessons for both the students and the teacher. This provides an interactive educational opportunity for both the students and their teacher as both can become comfortable with inquiry based science.

• Impacts ALL students in a grade level or school regardless of socio-economic status

• Works with teachers to align STEM education exploration with the current science curriculum being taught in school

• Can provide schools in disadvantaged areas supplementary STEM program education for their students

 

On Site Field Trips

 

Working directly with local elementary and middle schools, The Wong Foundation orchestrates on site field trips comprised of STEM education lessons aligned with the current science standards. These exciting programs provide the kids with the opportunity to experience STEM programs in a fun, hands on setting that encourages retention of the concepts presented.

• Can provide schools in disadvantaged areas supplementary science education for their students through PTA/PTO or Community Partnerships

• Immerses students in STEM concepts that are fun and engaging

• Minimizes lost teachable time

School Assemblies

 

The Wong Foundation loves to demonstrate how fun and interesting STEM programs can be through in school assemblies! You choose the topic and we bring in the pizzazz and sparkle and bring out the wonder and curiosity in the students. Help us spark their interest in STEM programs by funding a school assembly in your community.
